Custom Blazer Buttons – The Perfect Addition to Your Favorite Blazers

The blazer, including the double breasted to the single breasted ones, is considered as the most iconic piece of male clothing. Blazers are the number one go-to piece of clothes as you can style them in various ways, not to mention that they also look great in most occasions.

Short History of Blazers

The blazer has a long history and has undergone numerous evolutions through the years. It seems like H.M.S Blazer and Lady Margaret Boat Club are the two primary blazer influencers. It was in 1825 when members from the St. Johns College in Cambridge, England founded the Lady Margaret Boat Club. All of the members wore flannel jackets of bright red color. These were called blazers because of the blazing red color.

The H.M.S Blazer’s name was inspired when Queen Victoria visited the Royal Navy and new uniforms were made by the Commander of H.M.S Blazer for the whole crew. He came up with a uniform in the form of double breasted jackets with custom blazer buttons of the Royal Navy. The Queen fell in love with the uniform.

Soon after, blazer became the popular term to refer to this kind of jacket and to this day, it is regarded as a true icon in the world of male fashion.

Functions of Blazers and Proper Etiquette for Wearing Them

Blazers have several functions and details. Some of these have different purposes but are more hidden compared to others. As mentioned earlier, blazers can be double breasted or single breasted. There are two halves in a single breasted blazer that button together with 1 to 4 custom blazer buttons, usually 2 or 3 buttons. Double breasted blazers are usually more formal featuring 4, 6 or 8 gold blazer buttons that tie the extra fabric folding over from the left to the right.

Most of the time, the blazer has several custom blazer buttons and with these come several rules when to unbutton and button. For single breasted blazers, it is good etiquette to button a one-button blazer all the time, except when you are sitting. For two-buttons blazer, always use the top button while unbuttoning the lower button. As for blazers with three buttons, the center and also the top should be buttoned while unbuttoning the third one. All waist buttons in double breasted blazers must be buttoned.

Blazers feature several pockets that all have a particular purpose. As for the upper pocket found at the chest, it must be use only for pocket squares. You are free to use the large pocket at the waist but don’t forget to avoid overstocking the pocket because it can ruin the blazer’s fine lines. There are also blazers with a tiny ticket pocket located on top of the lower large pocket. This pocket was originally meant for train tickets.

If you feel like your blazers don’t look on point yet, you can further customize them with the help of custom button blazers. There is now a large selection of custom button blazers, including gold blazer buttons and so much more.
